Siemens Siplace®), musste bisher ein Teilverlust von Bauteilen durch das Entfernen der Deckelfolie in Kauf genommen werden. Durch den Einsatz von Steierform SMD-Gurteinfädlern wird der Bauteileverlust vermieden. Nach der Aufbringung des Gurteinfädlers auf die Deckelfolie wird das klebefreie Ende in die Abziehvorrichtung eingeführt und der weitere Prozeß kann ohne Stopp fortgeführt werden. Auch nach längerer Standzeit des Bestückungsautomaten wird aufgrund des klebstarken Teilbereichs ein Abscheren des Gurteinfädlers von der Deckelfolie vermieden. Zur Verfügung stehen 3 Abmessungen, die jeweils in transportsicheren Spezialkartons zu 500 bzw. 250 Stück eingebracht sind.

When a surface mount component tape, without leader (because it is a part reel or a short length), is to be used on an automatic pick and place machine the cover tape has until now had to be pulled back to feed it into the winding arrangement of a tape feeder. This usually led to most of the components in the pockets thus uncovered to be unusable. This can now be avoided by using Steierform SMD Cover Tape Extenders. Removing the cover paper reveals the adhesive side of the yellow tape, whose mark is aligned with the front edge of the component tape and stuck unto its cover tape. The non-adhesive, transparent end of the Polyester foil strip can now be fed into the tape feeder. There is enough length available not to have to discard components in the process. The bond between the Tape Extender and the original cover tape is sufficient to ensure that they will not separate, even after prolonged time under tension. Three widths are available and packed in special cartons.
